Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County
The Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority contracted to have this facility designed, built and operated for biosolids processing to service seven separate communities in one of the more affluent areas of the country. The West Palm Beach plant serves as a model of corporate citizenship and environmental sustainability.
A fully enclosed, odor-controlled, and automated receiving- and storage-area adjacent to the processing area reflects the architectural aesthetics of the community. Environmentally, the most distinguishing feature of this project is its innovative design for landfill gas to provide all the fuel necessary to run the biosolids processing system.
By replacing the need for natural gas at this facility, fossil fuel consumption and the overall carbon footprint is reduced dramatically, demonstrating dedication to sustainability.
